I bought to use for birding locally and for backpacking. I love the wide field of view, the brightness and great color of the optics. Spotting birds in flight is easy and I can take in larger landscape features. Handling is good for a compact(ish) sized binocular and the size is nice for backpacking (though they are not very light). The eyecups extend a full two stops to handle the long eye relief, and retracted these are great to use with glasses and sunglasses. They
